There are three major Washington DC area airports - Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI).

These airports service 65 million passengers each year.
Reagan National Airport offers 383 daily nonstop flights to 81 domestic destinations.
Dulles International Airport supports 248 daily nonstop flights to 79 domestic destinations and 390 weekly departures to 47 international destinations.
BWI handles 261 scheduled domestic flights and 14 nonstop international flights daily. This includes non-stop flights to 65 domestic and 13 international destinations.

Reagan National Airport is connected directly to Metrorail's Yellow and Blue Lines. Both Lines will take you directly to the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Metrorail station.

Washington Dulles International Airport is a major hub for both domestic and international travel. Dulles International Airport is a 45 minute drive from Washington DC, with lots of other ways to get there besides driving.

From Dulles International Airport
From Dulles International Airport, locate the Metro Bus stop outside the baggage claim area and take Metrobus 5A to Rosslyn Metrorail station on the Orange, Silver and Blue Lines with just one stop in between or take the 5A bus to L'Enfant Plaza Metrorail station. Fare is $7 per person ($3.50 for seniors and people with disabilities) Click here for "5A" bus schedule Note: The 5A buses leave the airport every 30-40 minutes

To Dulles International Airport
Take Metrobus route 5A from L'Enfant Plaza Metrorail station (Orange, Silver, Blue, Yellow, and Green Lines) or the Rosslyn Metrorail station (Orange, Silver, and Blue Lines). This Metrobus takes you to the airport for just $7 per person ($3.50 for seniors and people with disabilities).

Silver Line Express Bus

The Silver Line Express Bus provides a fast, convenient, and economical connection between the Dulles Main Terminal and the Wiehle-Reston East Metrorail station on the Silver Line. Total journey time, approximately 15 minutes.

$5 each way regular fare (Cash or credit card only. SmartTrip Cards not accepted)
Children under 2 years of age fride FREE
Boarding in the Airport: Purchase tickets at the counter located inside Arrivals Door# 4 in the Main Terminal.
Boarding at the Wiehle-Reston East Metro station: Exit to north side of Metro station, board the bus, then purchase tickets after the bus arrives at the airport.

The Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) is a 45 minute drive from Washington DC, serving over 650 domestic and 30 international flights daily.

From Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport
From Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, take the B30 Metrobus to Greenbelt Metrorail station on the Green Line.
Fare: $7 per person (exact change required)

You can also take a Free shuttle from Baltimore/Washington International airport to the BWI Marshall Rail Station and take the Maryland's MARC Train to Washington's Union Station (on MARC's Penn Line). From there, transfer to Metro's Red Line.

To Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport
When travelling to Baltimore/Washington International Airport, take the Green Line to Greenbelt Metrorail station. From there, board the B30 Metrobus to BWI.
Fare: $7 per person (exact change required)

Alternatively, you can also take Metrorail from your nearest station to Washington's Union Station on the Red Line. From there, take the MARC train to the BWI Marshall Rail Station (on MARC's Penn Line), where a Free shuttle takes you directly to the BWI airport terminal.

The Free Shuttle buses from the BWI Marshall terminal building to the rail station are located on the lower level terminal roadway in between door numbers 1 & 2, 8 & 9, 14 & 15, and 17 & 18 at BWI Airport. These shuttles operate daily as follows:

5am-8pm – Every 6 minutes
8pm-1am – Every 8 minutes
1am-5am – Every 25 minutes

MARC Train service operates seven days a week.
