San Francisco Area Airports

For locals and visitors alike, getting to or coming from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Oakland International Airport (OAK) is a piece of cake. The Bay Area is one of the few places in the US that has rail service to it's major airports.

Located 14 miles south of San Francisco is San Francisco International Airport. A world-class international airport and among one of the world's 30 busiest airport.

Going to San Francisco Airport:
The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) provides train service to San Francisco International Airport. The SFO BART Station is located on the Departures/Ticketing Level of the International Terminal (Boarding Area G side). From there, ride the SFO's AirTrain to your terminal. There is no charge to board AirTrain.

Coming from San Francisco Airport:
The San Francisco International Airport BART station is located on Level 3 of the International Terminal. The station is easily accessed from any terminal by riding the FREE AirTrain shuttle from the Domestic or International terminals to the Garage G - BART Station.

The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) provides train service to and from Oakland International Airport (OAK). The Oakland Airport BART station is located across from the Terminal 1 baggage claim area and a short walk from Terminal 2.

Going to Oakland International Airport:
Take BART to Coliseum Station, exit train at Coliseum Station and walk to elevated structure and board the BART shuttle train to Oakland International Airport (OAK) station. Travel time on the BART shuttle train is about 8 minutes to Oakland International Airport BART station which is located between Terminals 1 and 2.

Note:
You will need your BART ticket to gain access to the platform area to wait for connecting shuttle trains. Do not lose your ticket.
When you begin your trip, buy a BART ticket with enough value to get to the BART Oakland International Airport station (OAK), not the Coliseum Station.

Coming from Oakland International Airport:
From the airport you can connect to BART by following signs to the BART Oakland International Airport station which is located between Terminals 1 and 2. Take the FREE BART shuttle train to the Coliseum Station. At the Coliseum Station, purchase your BART ticket to your final destination.

BART shuttle train to Oakland International Airport station (OAK)
The BART shuttle train takes about 8 minutes to travel from the airport to the Coliseum Station. Shuttle train hours are approximately 5am to midnight on weekdays, 6am to midnight on Saturdays, and 8am to midnight on Sundays.
