Getting Around Los Angeles

There are plenty of options for navigating Los Angeles, from taxis and rental cars to public buses and trains. Getting around the LA area is an adventure in itself. Though public transportation serves most of the major attractions, getting from one place to another can be a challenge.

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority — commonly referred to as Metro or MTA is the primary regional public transportation agency in Los Angeles County. The Metro system covers a staggering 37,100 square kilometres with more than 200 Metro Bus lines and six rail lines, including both subway and light-rail trains, making it one of the largest public transit systems in the United States.
