Located north of Los Angeles in Valencia, Six Flags Magic Mountain is one of the most well-known parks in the Six Flags amusement park chain, and is the only park in the chain to be open year-round.

 

If you like roller coasters, then you are in the right place. Six Flags Magic Mountain has more thrill rides than anywhere else on earth. With over 100 rides, Six Flags Magic Mountain is one of Los Angeles area most popular family theme parks.

 

The park is organized into eight areas. As far as getting around is concerned, you can save yourself some time by using the Metro Monorail or the Orient Express instead of walking across the park.

Drop of Doom

If you like to feel the bottom drop out of you then LEX LUTHOR: Drop of Doom is a don't-miss ride. The ride's story is that you're escaping from Krypton Tower, where Superman's arch-enemy has been holding you. You'll ride to the top of a 400-foot tower in a floorless gondola, then free fall nearly to the bottom at up to 85 mph. Sounds like a simple concept, but trust us the execution is very scary .

 

Green Lantern
The first vertical spinning coaster in the U.S. designed for the bravest of thrill seekers.

Face your fear through 825 feet of twisted vertical track. (minimum height 48")

 

SUPERMAN: Escape from Krypton
Takes riders on a record-breaking 100-mph-in-seven-seconds adventure that elevates riders to the next level of extreme by reversing the direction of the vehicles and sending riders backwards. (minimum height 48")

 

Apocalypse
You'll think you just stepped into a post-apocalyptic world once you experience the full assault of the APOCALYPSE. Ride this wooden coaster like no other. (minimum height 48")

 

 

Batman The Ride - Batman The Ride combines state-of-the-art thrill ride technology with Batman movie magic. (minimum height 54")

Superman The Escape - Live the legend of DC Comics’ Superman by accelerating from 0 to 100 mph in seven seconds before shooting straight up a 41-story tower. (minimum height 48")

 

Colossus - Take a giant ride on the tallest dual track wooden roller coaster in the West. (minimum height 48")

Deja Vu - Experience the sensation of flying backwards and then forward with this Super Boomerang coaster. (minimum height 54")

Dive Devil - Experience Skydiving without a parachute on this 15 story, 60 mph free fall. Ride solo or with two other friends. Ride requires an additional fee. (minimum height 48")

Goldrusher - The rush is on. Experience a rush of dips, dives, twists and turns on this runaway roller coaster. (minimum height 48")

Revolution - Swoop onto the first looping coaster ever built. (minimum height 48")

Scream - Soar through the air at 65mph in a floorless train design roller coaster. (minimum height 54")

 

Tatsu - Get ready to fly at the speed of fear. Soar on the tallest, fastest and longest flying coaster on Earth. (minimum height 54")

Viper - The world's largest looping roller coaster. Experience an amazing seven head over heels inversions. (minimum height 54")

X2 - a 5-dimensional ride that spins and rotates 360 degrees forward, backward, upside down and head first. Completely redesigned trains and state-of-the-art visual, audio, and sensory effects move X from the 4th dimension to the 5th as it transforms into X2 (minimum height 48")

Getting to Six Flags Magic Mountain is not as complicated as it might look. Here are your options:

 

Driving

Take the Interstate 5 Freeway north. Exit Magic Mountain Parkway. Turn left at the traffic signal at the bottom of the exit ramp going under the Freeway overpass. Proceed along Magic Mountain Parkway to the parking toll booths and the Park entrances.

 

Note: There is a $15 parking fee

 

Metro Red Line – Noho 757 Express route
From Downtown Los Angeles, take the Metro Red Line to the North Hollywood Station. Then take the North Hollywood 757 Express bus to the McBean Regional Transit Station (MRTC). From there connect to a Santa Clarita Transit routes 3 & 7 to Six Flags Magic Mountain.

 

Metrolink train

From Union Station Downtown LA., take the Metro Link train (Antelope Valley Line) to the Newhall Station. From here, you can easily hop on either Santa Clarita Transit route 1 & 2 or 4 & 14 to the MRTC. Both lines service the Newhall Station every 15 minutes so you won't wait long. From the MRTC, transfer onto a route 3 & 7 which takes you directly to Six Flags amusement park.

Note: City of Santa Clarita Transit will honor Metrolink fare ticket when the origin/ destination pair includes the trip to be taken on the bus.

Six Flags Magic Mountain Tips

 

Do you know that you can board your pet for FREE at Six Flags kennel while you visit the park. The kennel is located in the main parking lot. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET IN OR TIED TO A VEHICLE WHILE YOU VISIT THE PARK.

 

Bring a jacket or sweatshirt for cool mornings and evenings. Store it in the lockers near the main entrance.

 

Arrange a meeting place and time in case your party becomes separated.
