How to Get Around
There are several options for getting around
Southern California. In San Diego, you can take
MTS buses, trolleys, the "Coaster" train system,
a taxi or rent a car. In the Los Angeles area, you
can take the bus, shuttle, train or rent a car.
A lot of Southern California visitors also find it
convenient to drive from place to place.
Just remember Los Angeles and San Diego is a
major metropolitian area, and subject to traffic
jams during rush hours.
San Diego TransitUnlike most big-city airports, San Diego International Airport (SAN) also know as Lindbergh Field is conveniently located close to the downtown area and to most of the major tourist attractions. Most of the popular San Diego attractions are clustered along a five mile wide strip near the ocean which is about 5 miles from downtown. |

Los Angeles TransitThere are plenty of options for navigating Los Angeles, from taxis and rental cars to buses and trains. Though public transportation serves most of the major attractions, getting from one place to another can be a challenge. The city of Los Angeles was designed with the automobile in mind, as such renting a car seems to be the best way to get around. |
